Magnul, Spirit of the the Woods

Magnul is the spirit of a young Elvish boy, when Denviot a young boy from a village located near the heart of a great forest went missing his father went to the village elder to plead for his son’s safe return.
The elder told him, "Do not worry, your son will return to you one year from now with a higher purpose". The father took this information to heart. From morning till night he sat at his doorway to his son’s room, only getting up to collect supplies.
A year pasted and late in the night his father heard a low moan, when we opened the door to his pathway he saw his son laid against a sign post. His father rushed over and with every step his breath drew shorter, his son was not as he was when he disappeared, his skin was dry and discoloured his hands hard and flaking. The father grabbed his son and rush to the elder. "My son, you need to help him!" Demanded the father.
The elder looked up and smiled, walked over, reached in his gown and pulled out a large wooden stake and plunged it straight into the boy’s heart. The child’s body burst into dust. "MY SON! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY SON", yelled the father.
"Head to the heart of the forest, I will meet you there". The father headed straight to the forest; as much as he wanted to destroy the elder he had trust in the man and gave him a chance.
The father stood beneath a huge tree than stood above every other tree in the forest, its roots shot over fallen branches and made high pitch screams as wind rushed past the tallest branches. The elder slowly walked up out of the bushes surrounding the tree, in his hand the stake. He walked straight past the father and slowly slid the piece of wood into a whole at the side of the tree. The ground shook and leafs began to swoop down around the two men. Animal’s leapt tree from tree and mood spluttered up out of the ground. A cloud of smoke engulfed the two men then out of the thick air stood a large slender man. The man had one huge black eye what didn’t seem to blink, a patch of vines and moss hung off its head and small branches wrapped around his right side.
The father gasped and ran at the monster like man with fists. Suddenly, "Father please it’s me Denviot". The father fell the ground mid sprint and pulled his way back onto the giant tree. "Father please don’t be afraid, I am sorry for the heartache I caused you but I am no longer just a boy, after I got lost in the forest I met a kind spirit called Magnul. He tried to help me get back to the village but I wasn’t able to find my way back, he saved my life. I... I was taken by the forest, by Magnul and he offered himself to give me another."
The father stood up and began to weep. "What have I done to you my boy, this is my fault", sighed the father.
"No father please don’t blame yourself, it was me who walked off into the forest and it was me who couldn’t find my way home, I was just a boy but now I have a chance to be something more" Explained the Man.

The rest of the story is still unknown as neither father nor son was ever seen after that point; the elder tells his people that his father left this land in search of a new life while his son still lives in the forest as Magnul. Maybe one day we'll find out exactly what happened after... For now we only have our stories.
