part 3 of my color series :)
here's wqtermxlon as a basket and canvas with a bunch of paint.
my analysis of melon's skins is a little complex, but here we go. Melon uses a lot of varying colors when it comes to shading. As opposed to hue shifting in a minimal way, Melon goes all out and hue shifts with high contrast and unity with the other colors. As a result, I tried to mimic that in the paint and the basket weaving. Moreover, Melon is a "pastel" skinner, meaning they make a lot of skins that aren't necessarily dark and pop very well against desaturated backgrounds. Although I only slightly used this method (specifically in the paint), you can see how much more the skin pops against the periwinkle color. Finally, Melon's shading is complex with a method of simplicity. They don't use gradients, more so that they prefer to shade the way real life diffuses. It's interesting and something I enjoyed incorporating.
nevertheless, Melon's color is #F0B4D9, a nice little orchid pastel :)
