Hey guys! I hope I'm not too late on this one since Kaiba gave us late people a free pass, but behold! It's the Professor Wolftree of the anime world (or at least, from what I've seen), Nanachi from Made in Abyss!

"But Eli!" Okay, Magikarp! I know what you're implying here, and you want to know what Made in Abyss is about, don't you, and why this kid's a bunny rabbit? "...Yes. And the big text, too. You don't have to be so grumpy about it!" Well, as for the big text, it's so that people can see this blog better and they don't have to jam their face so close to the screen. Now, for those of you who don't know, Made in Abyss is a series where these two kids from early 1900 (now three after meeting Nanachi) go down and explore the unknown layers of the abyss, but there's a catch to going down farther. When you head on up, there's always going to be some type of brutal curse placed on you depending on the distance you traveled in the abyss. For example, the first layer causes minor headaches while the seventh layer causes automatic death, which is why they nicknamed it "The Final Maelstrom." In a way, it's not the creepy monsters that makes this series dark, but the curses instead.

Cut to our poor soul of a once human girl (well, she doesn't really have a gender, but for simplicity's sake, I will be using girl pronouns for it), Nanachi. She was once human before she ended up in an experiment with her pal, Mitty, to see if the 6th layer's blessing was true. Now, about the 6th layer, it's curse is supposed to make you lose all of your humanity while turning into an animal (for Mitty's case, a hamster abomination... Poor thing!), but on rare occasions, if two people are traveling up at high speeds from the 6th layer, it is possible to get a blessing from it and come back alive, but they're stuck as a human/animal hybrid forever, which is why Nanachi is half human and half bunny rabbit.

Despite this poor kid having to go through a lot of crap, her new form does give benefits (Unlike some poor half human half Peridot professor I know), like being able to sense the curse's frequencies and being able to swiftly avoid them. What's more, her physical fortitude is now increased to an extent, so it's best not to mess with this kid at all in the JBowl when you can.

Anyways, that's all I've gotta say about one of my favorite Made in Abyss characters in existence! I was torn on choosing her or Detective Conan/Shinchi for the JBowl, but even with Conan's gadgets and quick intelligence, I don't think he could stand a chance against literal gods and freaking Piccolo, so what better way to counter that out with a curse detecting bunny kid? As always, enjoy the memes, and I'll see you next time! Buh bye!
