Nether Templar

When Steve the intrepid explorer first stumbled through the portal and into the Nether, he thought it was an empty and hostile place. What he did not know was that for thousands of Minecraft years, an Indigenous people had been living in the Nether. No-one knows where they came from, or how they disappeared. It is believed that, because of the harsh landscape, they formed a society similar to that of the Spartans on Earth. When they discovered portals to the Earth, they travelled through, scavenged all the resources they could carry, and destroyed the portals. They perfected the art of extracting minerals from the netherrack around them and formed them into unbreakable suits of armour. They were known as the Nether Templars, because every war they engaged in was in the name of their God. They used sharpened shields emblazoned with their insignia as a combined offensive and defensive weapon. It is believed that a portal was found that led to a dungeon that spawned creepers, which came through and destroyed the society of the Nether Templars. The only remnants of this society is the occasional Nether Fortress found in the now uninhabited and dangerous place known as the Nether.
