This is my entry to the "Underground Creatures" skin contest.  It's a naked mole rat, which I felt fit in well with the theme.  Now without further ado... the story *insert suspenseful music here.*

For centuries, Albanian Death Worms have threatened the lives of the Arconian population of naked mole rats.  The monsters, with their superior strength and size have forced the mole rats into underground tunnels, where they’ve been forced to live out their miserable lives.  They are under the Worms’ command, and work for them in mines.  The Moles are underfed, and sleep deprived.  You’d think their lives are as bad as it gets.  You’d be wrong. 


Every month or so, a pack of Worms will journey into the mole tunnels, slaughtering any that stand in their way. Leaving a trail of destruction, and corpses, in their wake.  They crumble the Moles’ buildings, trample their statues, and take the few barrels of food the Moles possess.  This is a way to show their power, and the Mole’s lack of it. 


Most of the Moles, while uncomfortable and constantly tired, due to their endless labor and miniscule rations of food and water, do nothing to stop the tyranny of the Worms.  Only a select few stand up.  This is the Arconian Rebellion, and their mission is to free the Moles from their giant dictators.  They currently keep a low profile, hoping to build up their ranks before attempting battle, but a few will sneak out, and assassinate a lone worm slithering through its tunnels.  The Worms have not yet noticed the subtle actions of this organization, but soon they will. 


And then war will come, on its swift, fiery wings.  It will leave a trail of destruction and grief.  Many will be lost, and unless the Arconian Rebellion finds more recruits, the outcome of this war is predictable.


Will you help the Rebellion, or cower in your tunnels, waiting for the end to come.  Choose between an endless life of misery, labor, starvation, and death, or one of possible victory, glory fame, and freedom.  Yes, injury and death is possible, but the rewards are worth it.


Now, will you fight?

Nhok Al'had is one of the few who resist.  He happens to be among the strongest of the rebellion's ranks.  He has slain countless worms, thus their kind has learned to despise him with all of their cold, slimy hearts.  Wounds cannot stop him.  He will fight until the day that the enemy takes his life, however, he does not plan to go down without a fight.  Some day, although he may not live to see it, Nhok wishes for their to be peace, and for war to be abolished.  Although he is only one mole rat, that doesn't mean he cannot make a difference.  A puzzle is made up of many different pieces all playing their own unique roll.  When put together, they create something beautiful.
