Ormund Hightower

The Lord of the Hightower and the head of House Hightower during the Dance of the Dragons. He wielded the Valyrian steel blade Vigilance. Ormund was the nephew of Ser Otto Hightower, Hand of the King to Jaehaerys I, Viserys I and Aegon II Targaryen. Ormund led the Reach forces for the greens during the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, supporting his kinsman, King Aegon II Targaryen. His host included a thousand knights, a thousand archers, three thousand men-at-arms, and thousands more of less discipline. Not all of the Reach's lords supported him, however. Ser Alan Beesbury and Lord Alan Tarly raided Ormund's camps and killed his scouts, while Lord Owen Costayne attacked his baggage train. Ormund wanted to wait for reinforcements from King's Landing.
