[ Achlys ]
This character was created for CatUnicorn123's palette contest.
I would highly recommend checking out her Pain Contest.
Hope you enjoy and good luck to the other entries :).
Sypnopsis
For this contest, we were given a very simple colour palette,
which limited what could be done in terms of shading.
All in all, I am pretty proud of how this turned out with
all things considered.
Intended Skin Symbolism
This skin is supposed to symbolise a lack of self-love.
Achlys (which was named after the Greek Goddess of misery
and sadness), wears a mask on the side of her face,
of which was stapled on for her to appear 'happy'
(hence the bloodied smile underneath)
after frustration to never look it on her own
The bandages on her arms and leg are hiding
her 'war wounds', which were inflicted
by herself in a battle for beauty. Again,
from the exasperation of never appearing
the way she liked.
Note
If you read the passage above and can relate to
the skin too much, I beg you not to mimic
(or in some cases, continue mimicking) what
Achlys does out of a lack of self-love
and appreciation.
You are loved.
True beauty was never skin deep.
If anyone ever needs to talk about this
topic, I'm here to listen to a vent.

this is amazing!
but yeah I wouldn’t recommend stapling stuff on your face or hurting yourself while trying to look pretty
