Oh I am so nervous ;-; First...contest...*heavy breathing* Let me explain. I just watched the new Star Wars trailer, and I started making a Star Wars/Dystopian inspired skin. I realized that I could make it for the contest. So, here it is.
Sorry it is such a generic skin ;-; I know the majority are doing desert soliders...but...uh...mine has a story along with it? Love me ._. :P
Backstory? Yeah.
The year is 2716. In the past 500 years our technology has allowed us to travel to different planets in our galaxy and others beyond it. It seemed like the greatest breakthrough: Spacecrafts made from a stronger version of Rebar, engineered to withstand space's vaccum and movement in space faster than the speed of light. Thus, we ventured to the sun for a immense power source. We contained the power of the sun, and incorporated it into our newly designed spacecrafts that lacked the one element that would fulfill the job it was made for. Hyper travel. At first, these crafts were available only to our top scientists. They went on explorations to nearby planets where they brought back unknown materials, which they studied and tested. As more expeditions were made, stronger materials that could withstand the pressure of the inner core were discovered. Loads of it. Soon the materials had become so common they released them everywhere: from dealers to the black markets. And so, colonies were established on planets near Earth. We then expanded to other moons, planets, solar systems and galaxies. With this new privliege, there came imperious groups from other star systems. that would do whatever it took to gain control of society. They had an issue though: The government. They were (and still are) our leaders from Earth, therefore are rightful leaders. Still, people aggerate from planets even the government don't know existed. Those planets also have resources we don't know exist. Most of those power hungry groups joined forces and created what we call the Imperials, due to their thrist for control. The others stay hidden in the shadows, commiting small crimes that were not of the most importance. Infact, the Imperials were not considered a threat to the government until they launched their attack on Gonda. Thousands of people were killed that day. As a result, the government countered by forming an army. An army of people willing to fight. They then created weapons and machinery for the soldiers to use. Guns loaded with plasma capsules that exploded into a short ray once the trigger was pulled, airships armed with missiles, levitating motor bikes, et cetera. They sent word out to other planets and gathered more troops, and soon thousands upon thousands of soldiers were enlisted. They all lived in the facility on Randoth, a planet covered entirely in city. This was were the government buildings lied, in the center of the busiest area of Randoth. Soldier bases began to be established on planets, where soldiers would stay while checking that planet for suspicious activity and so on. The Imperials continued attempting to dominate planets, and the government would always be there to counter them. Battle after battle, death after death. The government was in desperate need of soldiers, and soon forced civilians to join. Men and women alike were dragged out of there homes if they refused to leave their families and lives. I was one of those people, at the age of 17 they knocked on my door and demanded my allegiance. And so, I followed through training and adapted to living in the facility like everyone else. I was given a squad, 67, and was soon ranked to comander after my perfect aim and fast reflexes were aknowledged a year after joining my squad as a rookie. Our squad had a special bond that almost seemed like friendship, in which I was grateful for in such a cruel life we all lived.
I almost felt comfortable in my position until my squad was assigned to fight with seven other squads on Anastaira, my home after Earth. Due to my background they decided our squad would make a valuable addition to the soldiers already out there, and I did not argue.I was obligated to help, angered by the Imperials trying to take over my planet. Our mission began normally, though a battalion awaited in the skies. We managed to land--crash our aircraft in the dunes of the golden sand. We waited until dark, then started heading for they coordinates we were given by the government. Even though  it was dark, the heat still radiated through the air. Sweat clung to our skin and seeped our clothes, though we did not slow. It did not bother me as much as my squad, but I let them stop and rest for several minutes. However we could not stay in one place for long. Other creatures roam the vastness of the unihabited part of Anastaira. We began moving again, and by the break of dawn we had reached the town. We were discouraged at the sight: War. The Imperials had already made their move. Dozens of soldiers lied in the dust...dead. Our squad quickly joined in on the battle. As we neared them, I got a closer look at the weapons they held--some kind of pistol consisting of a bullet made of some material I cannot recognize...something posionous, it seems. We are no match for them. Yet we keep fighting, capsule affter capsule until there is none left. I glance around-we are even more outnumbered then before. I bite my lip and tell myself to keep firing. Fire. Fire. Don't look. Fire. Mustn't wander with my eyes. Fire. I curse as I pull the trigger and I recieve no recoil. I tap my communicator and shout into it for reinforcements. No answer. I unsheath my knife, though it will do no good. I call for a fallback, though my voice is lost in the gunshots echoing in the air. They hear my scream, though, as a an ember emerges in my left leg. It quickly errupts into a flame.  There heads turn to me, and thats all I see before the blackness in the corner of my eyes takes over my vision. I feel my head collide with the grains of sand. The gunshots begin to fade, until there is nothing but silence.

When I wake, the sky is blue and the two moons that orbit the planet are visable. I squint in the brightness. Day. I sit up, wincing as pain prickles in my leg, reminding me of my failure. I urge my head to lift from the ground. My chest tightens and my heart skips a beat at the sight. Bodies, everywhere. Blood stained sand. Some of them I don't recognize but others I do. I can't stop the scream forming to escape my throat. Tears congregate in the corners of my eyes, and I let them flow down my cheeks as I force myself to stand up. My leg protests, but I ignore the pain and stuble across the battefield. I sort names with bodies and rule out people. My whole team. Dead. I cling onto the hope that one of them survived, my closest friend at the facility. I search for his face. My eyes settle on a brunette haired boy. I cry aloud, droping to my knees infront of the crumpled body. His once illuminated eyes are now glassy and dull. Dead. Every last one of them. I failed them. No, the government failed them. They sent no reinforcements. I assume they decided our mission was a lost cause, and let us all be consumed by gun fire. My fingers dig into the sand. The government is a lie. I had begun to get suspicious before, though I had no proof. Now I have all the proof I need. The government only cares about power, like everyone else in this world. The sorrow is replaced with anger. Being part of the government's game isn't really freedom--It would be just as bad if the Imperials ruled us. I am no longer part of any group. I am insurgent. I take the identification band off the body before me and bury it in the sand. I want him to have been free from the chains of control too. I keep mine though, as a reminder of what I once was. I get to my feet and leave behind my past to wander the deserts of Anastaira, that I had once known like the back of my hand but am now too discombobulated to fathom, in search of something to help change our future.

Sorry for any typos.
