Help, i downloaded the skin and when i got on minecraft none of the 3D layer shows up, exept for the hat. I tried going on every 1.7 update but it still wont work. I specially tried it on 1.7.9

Well, the recent snapshot 14w03a added a 1.8 skin feature, and basically they just added a option that enables you to make 3D skin parts to your skin. I use MCSkin3D to make my skins and if you do too, this is how to get the 1.8 skin format thingy- on the upper right corner, click Human (it should by default be Human anyways,) then click Mobs, then Passive, and there should be a option for 'Human 1.8' click that and it will say a bunch of crap about cropping and stuff, just click 'Crop' anyways. And voila! you are done
