MAYUMI 1.0! MAYUMI Can work at stores, selling things and can do most things humans can, like, telling jokes, speak languages, learn languages, teach kids, sit down, and a lot more. Development of MAYUMI started in December of 2011, where the first MAYUMI (EMI/PROTOTYPE) was created. In May of 2018, MAYUMI 1.0 was released. The Developer, Nonoko Mutsumi (野口睦) had this to say about Mayumi, "In 2011, I had a vision, a robot that could do things like any person. I thought that this was already created, but I still wanted to give it a chance. So we went to Mr. Yamamoto, and, weirdly enough, he gave us the greenlight! My life hasn't been the same since then." She added, "I named her Mayumi after my beautiful daughter, and I'd thought she loved it. And, she did!" Mutsumi is currently 34 years old and lives with her husband and daughter in Tokyo, Japan. Hiroyoshi Yamamoto, aged 51, had this to say about MAYUMI 1.0 "Mrs. Mutsumi was one of the best developers on the ROBOTS developing team, period. I knew without even hearing what she was gonna say that it was going to be great."

Yamamoto Industries presented MAYUMI at a YAMAMOTO LIVE event, where over 100-250K attended. Mutsumi says that she is "proud and accomplished" about her project. Yamamoto Industries and Mutsumi both said that they are "Always working with each other to make MAYUMI better!". Will this be the last of MAYUMI? Who knows!
