Serqet, Egyptian Goddess of Healing and Scorpions

To warm myself up for not creating skins for 4 years now, I decided to join the Aztecs and Egyptians Skin Contest.

Being an avid fan of SMITE 2-3 years ago, which was a MOBA that featured gods and goddesses of different pantheons/mythologies/religions as its playable characters - The Egyptian Pantheon was one of many of these. I enjoyed the game thoroughly, because other than the creativity of the game in its technical aspects, I was also being educated on other mythological deities - Serqet being one of them.

This skin rendition of Serqet is heavily inspired by three images:

Serket, originally depicted in Ancient Egypt.

Serqet, as depicted by Digital Artist, Yliade.

The hairstyle, headgear, and nails are from the third image (SMITE's depiction)

The dress and anklet is from the second image (Yliade's depiction)

The general over-all concept is, of course, inspired by the goddess herself.

I find it important in designing is the concept of asymmetry, balance, and instilling individual details that give it more character:

the neck above is mostly symmetrical except there is a slight sway on the headgear towards the right.
bracelet on the right wrist, an anklet on the left ankle.
the dress' sleeves has a flutter sleeves on the right and has an off-shoulder on the right.
the dress' skirt/train is layered with different, yet similar colors ranging from red to maroon.
the right/longer side overlaps the left in the chest and stomach area.
a choker/princess length necklace on the front, and an opera length "necklace" on the back which is alike to a body chain.
there is a scorpion's tail in the back that goes up then down, and is positioned to the left part of the body.
there are two glowing "tattoos"/markings on the body: one on the left calf which is a modified version of the Scorpio sign, and one on the left arm that resembles a scorpion's tail and stinger.
all of the jewelry is colored green except the headgear.
there is a nose ring on the left nostril.

Overall, the process took me ~7 (estimate) hours.
