well this version of Batman is fairly new, being introduced in 2023 where Bruce of Earth-162 (the same Earth as Superman Red and Blue) got in the same accident as Superman that split him into two being: Batman Grey and Batman Blue

Good question! Not sure about the answer though...

I wonder if this inspired the storyline, or if it's just obvious to a writer that if you're gonna have two supermen, they're gonna each lean hard into one of Supes' two primary colours... who's to say!?
