Before Steve ever became an Adventurer, he was a desk jockey at a local business firm.
The boss at his firm, well, he definitely was not the nicest of people, and ended up firing Steve for daydreaming. Now, years later, after Steve has slain his dragons, his boss has decided that he needs to teach Steve a lesson about slacking. Either that or he just really misses having a guy around to get him coffee.
