Legend has it, in the times of old, a man unknown to civilization toiled endlessly. Surrounded by his research, he has made it his life's work to discover the holy grail of medicine: Immortality. day by day, he came closer to the answer he searched for. regimes rose and fell around him and he still worked, searching for the secrets he needed. His discoveries were leagues ahead of his time, but as all living creatures do, his age began to catch up with him. Winter fell, his seventy-second winter so far in his mortal life. The men of Alexander the Great had seized the town closest to the man, bringing with them the pressure of mortality. "What if they were to come here and take all my work, or worse, take me?" . several days later and there is significant progress, following a discovery that can only be described as miraculous. The man has reversed his own aging, reverting back to his thirty year old self. Shortly after the transformation, there is vigorous knocking on the door. A soldier is standing at the door. This is exactly what he feared would happen. Mustering up his courage, he puts a cleaver to his belt and makes for the door. The soldier greets him, telling him to evacuate his home. Looking over the soldier's shoulder, the man notices multiple other soldiers, about three or four more, some distance from the house. Although he was taken aback by the politeness of the soldiers, he clearly had no choice in the matter. He asks the soldier to give him time to collect his things to leave, and the soldier allows it. Some time later, the man is out in the freezing cold, clutching sacks full of his monumental findings. With nowhere to go, he walked into the mountains, eventually finding a small cavern, untouched by man. Knowing this might be his only safe spot now, he set up his things. Curing aging is powerful indeed, but he was still mortal. Centuries later, his body was found frozen in ice, his scrolls suspended alongside him. Nobody knows if he is discovered immortality and is alive in a new grotesque form, or if he had died in the ice along with his mission.
