Summary:
The Mined Man was the greatest droid made from the best technology. When a new robot came along and its makers claimed it was better, the two faced off in a battle of wits. The new robot got the upper hand, and the Mined Man only saw one option: an upgrade. He could not properly upgrade himself, and he overheated. His makers tried to save him by taking him to the freezing arctic to what seemed like no avail. They left him there with no hope, but his core lived and began repairs. Now he is a scavenger made partially of the only available resource: ice. He continues to roam the north, searching for materials to repair and improve himself, and trying to find his way back home.

This dejected droid was once a collaboration of only the most advanced technology. He is made with a redstone core guarded inside a diamond shell found in the center of his chest. His memory is kept in emerald based storage, and he was originally fitted with the finest plate armor made out of compound gold, diamond, and iron. He was made with extremely high processing power and programmed as a sentient android. He was a symbol of minecraftian genius and accomplishment for nearly a century, and dubbed, "The Mined Man" as he was so close to human. After about ninety years, the scientists who witnessed his construction unveiled a new machine. Though in appearance it resembled a block, this cubic meter of tech overshadowed the Mined Man with superior intelligence. Some of the creators of the mined man were sure that he could still outdo the new cube, so they put them to the test in the ultimate virtual war for a strategy battle. The two competitors started out evenly, each countering the other's move. Three days into the battle, the cube gained an upper hand. The Mined Man saw only one possibility for success, a self-upgrade to allow him to analyse why the cube had planned his attack this way, then to diplomatically confuse the cube and counter-attack. He tried to initialize the upgrade, but some parameters in his base code caused him to get caught in a loop and overheat. In an effort to save him, his makers brought him up to the arctic and dropped him into the ice. He was so hot he melted it and went on to evaporate the water, so they shut him down. they waited three weeks for him to cool off, then turned him back on. When he did not turn on, they lost hope and took what parts they thought were salvageable, his limbs. However, his core never stopped running, and a few years later, he awoke. With no limbs, he was not able to do much, so he formed limbs out of the ice. He continues to roam the north, searching for materials to repair and improve himself, and trying to find his way back home.
