Sam's feet clunked along the floor as he walked, almost casually, towards the exit. His metal shoes had been a nuisance when it came to breaking-out. Shouts and screams ran out behind him, but he was in his element. Well, as close as he could get to his element. 


You see, Sam really didn't know what he was. He had BEGGED for answers from his captors, though he had never recieved a response. The glass visor which protected his face (or what he assumed was his face) provided no reflection. Not once had he seen himself. He dearly wanted to be a man. To be a normal human being. He was being forever tested by "scientists" in a bunker. He despised the so-called scientists. Sam grunted as he thought about this. They were more like torturers. If fact, they WERE torturers. Sam had been stuck in the underground bunker ever since he'd been created. Which was thousands of years ago. He had always been "passed down" generation to generation.


"Pfft," Sam thought, "Passed down like a worn-out heirloom.".


Then his thoughts turned back to what he had just done. Oh, how ecstatic he had felt... hearing their screams of terror - much like they had heard his for all these years. He laughed. He actually LAUGHED at his own intelligence!


Sam had waited in his "bed" (which felt like a large platform of slate, really), absolutely still until the guards had arrived in the morning to take him to the lab for more testing. When they arrived, he still was frozen. They barked instructions at him, and when he didn't respond, they moved further into the room. Exactly to plan. As they approached him, he leaped up and swung a metal-plated which caught the first bloke in the ear, knocking him out instantly. The second had literally froze in his steps and pretty much accepted his fate. Sam booted him in the head gently (if he had been any harder his boots would've pierced his skin and collapsed his skull) and left the two unconscious men locked in his old cell. Before he had left, he had rummaged through their pockets and in total found a lighter, a packet of cigarettes and a few buttons. He checked his first objective off of his mental list. Now to start the second... Sam retraced his regular steps to the labs. It wasn't hard to find oil. The scientists fed some of the other "in-mates" with it. Sam simply threw a barrel of oil across the room, leaving a trail of black sludge. He then lit it with one of the guard's lighters. The place had gone up quicker than Sam had expected. And to his surprise, no fire alarms sounded. What great luck?! There was nothing else to do, but leave. He would be able to walk the Earth for the first time. And walk it FREE.


Without looking back, Sam walk out of the exit. The sensors, sensing his leave, sounded and a siren (which sounded much like the one's he'd heard during WWI) played continuously. Red lights flashed like a disco, as Sam entered the realm of freedom.
