By his own admission, the Eleventh Doctor was a genius and a madman. He had the same sparkling intelligence as his predecessors but it seemed to be firing in every direction at once. A showdown with the weeping Angels in New York City separated the Doctor from his companions forever. He retreated to Victorian London for Christmas until his sense of adventure was reignited, leading him on a hunt for the twice-lost "impossible Girl' called Clara Oswald. The riddle of the "impossible Girl' and the Doctor's oldest secret were both revealed at the Doctor's tomb on Trenzalore....
