Les troupes de marine (TDM) sont une composante de l'Armée de terre française qui regroupe plusieurs armes : infanterie, artillerie, cavalerie blindée, transmissions et troupes aéroportées (parachutiste).
Leur filiation remonte aux compagnies ordinaires de la mer créées par le cardinal de Richelieu en 1622. Si au départ elles dépendent du secrétariat d'État de la Marine (les « troupes de la Marine ») ou des Colonies (les troupes coloniales), elle passent plusieurs fois à celui de la Guerre. En 1958, les troupes coloniales sont renommées troupes de marine et forment désormais une subdivision au sein de l’Armée de terre.
The French Marine's (TDM) are part of the French Ground Forces and regroup several units : Infantry, Artillery, Armored Cavalry, Transmitions and Airborn Troops (paratroopers).
Their parentage comes from the Sea Ordinary Troops created by cardinal Richelieu in 1622. At the beginning, they were depending of the State Secretary of the Navy ("Marine Troops") or the State Secretary of the Colonies (Colonial Troops) . Meanwhile, in 1958, they finally became "Troupes de Marine" or aka the french Marines and are now an entire part of the Ground Forces.
