Thanks! I like to make most of my skins in that fashion, almost off-putting or rustic, or quaint like you said. The reason why there's a skull under the head is because I've made a couple other pigmen with skin gaps in the head, and it's easier to design one skull for all of them. But It's also because I love details.

The pigmen skins are all a part of my texture pack, Rust. It's kind of a give away for why this particular style of art was selected. Anyhow, I think that as a whole, the pack gives off a lot of the feeling seen in this skin by you. It's also best when using Mc patcher for random mobs, and Optifine for better grass and so on.
