The blackstone brick texture is...
not good, to say the least. it is meant to be polished but really it just looks like blackstone was flattened.

I absolutely hate it, so I fixed it in this pack.

I think the bricks aren't intended to be polished, the reason why it's called polished Blackstone Bricks is because they're made from polished blackstone. Deepslate doesn't have this as the devs realized it was a mouthful to say "polished deepslate bricks". It would also imply the existence of un-polished blackstone bricks.



TL;DR polished blackstone Bricks are called that because they're made from polished blackstone and isn't to be reflected in their appearance.
