you put just the png files in the zip, and not format it (i.e. pack.zip>minecraft>item>netherite_chestplate.png

go into the pack, click "assets", then make sure there is the "minecraft" folder, then make sure there is the "item" folder, and put all item textures in there.

(One year later) I finally know what this is, I am going to update it today and make it useable. (Only because it is featured in two collections and I don't want people using it when it won't work.)
