Detailed guide how to make it work on version 1.21.5 and higer (I can't guarantee how this works on versions 26.1 and higher, i didn't tested it).

I hope this will be clearer for those who need it!!

1. Go to "assets > minecraft > mcpatcher > mob". Here you create a folder called "chicken" and move all the files that aren't in the folders there. That means the file "chicken.properties" and the files "chicken2.png", "chicken3.png", "chicken4.png"... "chicken20.png"
2. Go to the folder you created: "assets > minecraft > mcpatcher > mob > chicken". Copy absolutely all the files there into the same folder, so there are three identical copies of each file (.png AND .properties).
3. Rename the .properties files so that you have three .properties files with the same content inside them, but with three different names: "cold_chicken.properties," "warm_chicken.properties," and "temperate_chicken.properties."
4. Rename the .png files in the same way. So that one texture has three identical copies with different names: "cold_chicken2.png," "warm_chicken2.png," and "temperate_chicken2.png."
And do this for each .png file in this folder. Make these files for each texture, i.e.: "cold_chicken3.png", "warm_chicken3.png" and "temperate_chicken3.png", "cold_chicken4.png", "warm_chicken4.png" and "temperate_chicken4.png", and so on.
5. Go to the "assets > minecraft > mcpatcher > mob > cow" folder and create two additional copies for each .png file.
6. Just like with the chickens, rename the three identical textures to get "cold_cow2.png", "warm_cow2.png", and "temperate_cow2.png". Make these files for each texture.
7. !!! Don't create copies or rename anything for the files: "brown_mooshroom2.png" and "red_mooshroom2.png"
8. Complete the exact same steps for "assets > minecraft > mcpatcher > mob > pig". There should also be three .properties files: "cold_pig.properties", "warm_pig.properties", and "temperate_pig.properties".
9. Go to "assets > minecraft > optifine > cem". Here, create three additional copies of the file: "chicken.jem".
10. Rename the resulting three copies of the "chicken.jem" file to "cold_chicken.jem", "warm_chicken.jem", and "temperate_chicken.jem".
11. !!! Keep the original "chicken.jem" file as well (I'm not sure if this is necessary, but I left it).
12. Repeat steps 9-11 for each of the files: "cow.jem" and "pig.jem."
13. Go to "assets > minecraft > optifine > mob." Instead of renaming all the files manually, it's easier to copy them from "assets > minecraft > mcpatcher > mob." Simply delete all the files in the "assets > minecraft > optifine > mob" folder and copy the files from "assets > minecraft > mcpatcher > mob" there.
14. Go to "assets > minecraft > textures > entity." Create a "chicken" folder there and move the "chicken.png" file there.

Done!

Hello! I just tried this in 1.21.5 and the pig texture isn't working. I know this pack isn't updated, no pressure or anything, I just wanted to let anyone else who wanted to use it know. I love this pack on my older instances, it's an absolute must-have :) So cute with mizuno's texture pack!

You can create copies of textures and models of updated animals for the new versions and rename files as temperate/warm/cold_pig/cow/chiken and everything will work :)

Hello, I love this resource pack however when I load it in, parts of the animals are invisible and some of the textures don't work. I am thinking it might be a problem that interferes with other mod packs, any solution ?
