Could you add a swamp variant of the lilypad so that the animation blends in with the water in that biome ?

that's going to need Optifine, and I am trying my best to not use Optifine here. Once I get to the Optifine release, I will add it.



but lily-pads are found in swamp biomes. I might switch it.
