Heyo,
Per request, I have taken the concept of my Trapdoor Fix and implemented it for all of the doors in the game.
In the base game, the side textures for the doors are simply grabbed from the front textures, leading to weird visuals such as improper shading and extra hinges, as well as hinges in the wrong spots.
So this texture pack adds custom side textures to all of the doors so that it flows better and doesn't look strange.
Hope y'all like it!

Have something to say?
I'm not quite sure what you mean by easier. The doors do use a parent json already. Were you suggesting a parent json for specifically the side textures? If so, I'm not sure if that's possible to implement, and if it is, I don't know how.
Also why don't folders work well? I figured it'd be easier with them in folders instead of having to sift through all of the textures at once
Did you mean to bedrock edition? It's already on Java
Also I don't think it'll be possible on bedrock because it adapts the models of the doors
Just letting you know they've both been updated now :)
Thanks for letting me know :)
Is it possible to do this on 1.16.5? I was trying to make a texture pack to change the door. But after finishing, the door looks ugly when opened.Feel free to take a look at the inner-workings of my pack to see the formatting. It is different to how it works in 1.16.5 but it might give you an idea. The only differences I could see with just the glance are that the names of the files are different to now, they are not split into a left door and right door like they are now, and the models themselves seem to be slightly different with starting numbers for locations.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help but hopefully you'll be able to figure it out and let me know if I can help more :) I might be able to find time to figure it out for you but I can't guarantee that I will have the time
