  • zip the texturepack contents, not the folder.
  • the items.png is wrong.
  • you did not change the armor.

you can also remove the files:
  • META-INF
  • paulscode
  • net
  • lang
along with any files you don't plan on editing. Minecraft will fill in the files that aren't in the texturepack.
