Try using Paint.NET, for me it's much easier for smaller pixel stuff, and if you know how to utilize it, you can make texture packs, skins, and more with reasonable shading: IE, THIS, or THIS

Just a suggestion, and also, possibly add more custom textures.

i tried paint.net didnt work out but gimp suits me just fine thx and again its a WIP just letting people know about my project! :D DOOT!

Meh, Everybody's got something they use, and it works for them.
P.NET works for me best. (gimp repetitively crashes everytime I use it)
