This resource pack works for the latest versions of minecraft and below down to version 1.8.9.

This resource pack requires Optifine to work.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Wolves are updated to look like dragons. These dragons have the same behaviour as the default minecraft wolf.


DRAGON COLORS

Dragons come in 13 different colors. Any dye can be used to change a dragons color.

Use the gray dye for a red dragon (red dye is not supported as this is the default collar color on which this system relies).





DRAGON ARMOR

Dragons can wear netherite armor. This is purely cosmetic and has no effect on health or damage resistance.

Dragons can be given armor using name tags. See the required structure of the name tag in the image below:

Added an animated fire breath attack for angry dragons (both wild and tame).

Updated the default animation to be more realistic.



Updated shadows to be more convincing with model animations.

Any chance this will be updated to the latest version? For starters, dog armor would give the dragons actual armor instead of just visual decoration. And maybe new wolf breeds could offer something interesting as well. Perhaps replace some particular breed for the dragons, and leave all others intact, and the players could choose which breed to replace by themselves, in their own game files. That way we could have both dogs and dragons at the same time, sacrificing only one breed that each player doesn't like as much.

could you perhaps make a version where the sitting animation is of the dragon actually sitting or laying down? i wanna have it sit on my bed. please and thanks <3

I just can't get this resource pack to work. It appears to be incompatible with 1.12.2. I'm on 1.12.2, forge 14.23.5.2860, no mods except for optifine. When I installed the latest version (via forge app, then also tried manually) of the pack, it gave me a 'made for a newer version' message, loaded it anyway and all it did is slap an incompatible texture onto the default wolf model.

So I also tried fixing the error message by changing pack_format value to 3. That got rid of the error but the wolves are still busted.

What the hell am I doing wrong here

How did you add custom animations for the dragons and prevented them from breaking when they sit?
