Striders are detailed because Minecraft now has a consistent mob design principle; the base texture of every mob must have the same pixel size as the blocks that they are standing on. Mobs like Ghasts, bats, elder guardians, wither skeletons, the wither, vex and rabbits are technically the anomaly due to their models being resized because the developers decided to change their size but too lazy to make a new texture.

Does this pack still render the strider properly? I know the model changed before the release so it might have messed it up

Apologies to the creator of the Better Vanilla Building resource pack. I used their pack.mcmeta file to test my resource pack and I forgot to edit it before I originally posted this resource pack.
