Just curious about this but did you take some inspiration from this tutorial I made a while ago? I'd love to see if I actually inspired someone lol He looks rlly similar to my version that's why I'm asking :)

yes, i was looking for a stitch model for a texture pack for a long time but i never found it, but i found a photo of your project and realized that this is exactly what i wanted and tried to do myself. i also made a pink version of it, if you want i'll upload it!

I never got to release my stitch model because of a bug so I only made the yt vid hehe
Great to see you bringing it back to live as a hat model!

By the way, I forgot, you can put the model in a frame (the frame in the texture pack is invisible) and the model will sit on the block
