Introducing the Absorber. An ancient artifact, forged by the enchanters of the past with passion, and a function of absorbing area of water around it.

Forged with highly flexible prismarine, it was capable of containing large body of water. Once it comes contact with water, its seal will immediately collapse and absorb all the water. Once filled, the seal will be granted again, to contain the water.

Knowing its destructive possibilities, the elder guardians took the remaining absorbers and seal them away, preventing the fall of their monument.

lore!!!1!1!

What i've changed:
- Sponges
- Wet Sponges
- Sponge > Absorber
- Wet Sponge > Filled Absorber
- Sponge sounds
It sounds a bit more, solid now, like a metal. The absorbing sounds more mystical, since it is enchanted.
(i know sponges are not as hard as stones, but as long you're not breaking it with hoes, it makes sense.)
- Wet Sponges sounds
The wet ones sounds...more wet than the dry ones.

Enjoy the pack!

This just makes ocean monuments feel more useful to me for some reason. Its weird because this is just a texture pack.

pelloish Would you allow modders to use (with credits, of course) the assets of your resource pack to make a mod that implements the absorver as a standalone block (instead of replacing the sponge)?

Why yes, of course! I always had this idea of actually making the absorber as it's own block, and a real artifact from the ocean temple. So go ahead, my friend.

Okay, i managed to get a modder to do that! KrazyMiner001 on Fabric's Discord kindly accepted my request.

Here's the link for the repository: github.com/KrazyMiner001/TheAbsorber

I appreciate both the thought and the work that went into this. I appreciate the storytelling and the texture work. The animation was a nice surprise, you've changed names, added sounds, and have variants. An amazing pack for such a small change.

Hey! Just a heads up, this pack completely replaces every single entry in en_us.json, which is completely unnecessary and also breaks other packs that change anything related to language. Please replace the entire document to only contain this!

{
"block.minecraft.sponge": "Absorber",
"block.minecraft.wet_sponge": "Filled Absorber",
"subtitles.block.sponge.absorb": "Absorber absorbs"
}

oh yeah, i was in a hurry when i made this pack 💀
thanks for reminding me though, might update it after the jam.
i think a solution to this problem is you just need to put the pack at the bottom list, if you are having multiple packs applied.
might work, because if it's on the bottom, then the lang file won't override the packs above it. either way, thanks for the suggestion altogether :)
