Excalibur is a resource pack created to enhance the adventure that Minecraft presents. Many medieval or RPG packs weren't good enough for my tastes. I made an attempt with my resource pack, Chivalry, but not even that satisfied me. Excalibur brings your kingdoms and villages to life and keeps the charm of default resolution textures.

Hello, I love this resource pack, but I'm having a problem with a couple mods that add leaves in particular (Twilight Forest, Rustic). They all show up as purple and black blocks. I was wondering if you could point me to the folder in your resource pack where I could add the png files for the leaves. Thanks.

Go into the assets\minecraft\models\block folder and delete all the models relating to leaves
That worked! Thank you!
hi! thats happening to me but with the glowstone, the ocean lamp, the furnace when its on and the red stone torch. It happens ONLY when im using the resourse pack with optifine :c i love the resource pack and it looks so better with the lighting and shadows! but the down part are the purple and black texture of those items :c

I have 1 question.

Have you ever considered adding leaves part on the sides and on top as it already is on bottom part of leaves so it would look like a bush if placed alone?

If you encounter them on server that might be because someone on server or server itself uses custom block model packs

Yes you can use Excalibur in 1.13

It missing just few MINOR textures that you probably wouldnt even notice.

You can also use it in 1.14 snapshots.

Hey Maffew, I'm here to tell you again that your texture pack is awesome and just keep with the good work AND also I've been using it for my SP world and as I live in the village I've noticed, (maybe thats how is suposed to be or maybe not), that villager dont have a sound, like whole village is pretty much silent.

I was thinking that you might check that out to see if its bug or some kind of error.

Oh yes and while Im next to lava, Im not sure if it really is, but some kind of "void" sound appears.

Those two things I've noticed alongside with couple of other that people already comented about.

P.S. I dont know if you tried loading texture pack in 1.14. (its snapshots) but i works almost perfectly

(several top textures missing but overall - great!).

I'm having all sorts of purple and black testure not found errors in places. Coal Block like below, one or two of the upsidedown corner stairs, wheat breaking.

Additionally, myself and others using it have noticed many of your banner textures dont line up with the intended vanilla designs created using out-of-mc tools and by people not using the pack on our server. Could this be fixed?

When will the next update drop for 1.13?

Is there a possibility that you will make a higher resolution version of this pack? Preferably 32x or 64x. I love this texture pack and it's the only currently updated medieval texture pack that actually looks great.
Hi, recently started using this texture pack on a LAN server with some friends, but looking through the last patch of the resource pack we're all a little stumped as to what the stuff in the CIT section is.

For example: added mirror model and added round shield. These sound really interesting but none of us really know how to get them.

Loving the pack btw, definitely one of my favourite ones out there.

Found another bug with some of the entity models, specifically the cow, pig, and chicken textures have hollow snouts or glitchy legs when looking at them from certain angles (cow and pig have hollow snout, chicken has glitchy legs). Love the pack btw definitely one of if not my all time favorite

Lol, actually, they just released a new version of the 1.14 texture pack. It looks like jappa is really trieing hard to keep the old vanilla feel of it. just... seems softer. I liked where he was going in the previous versions. but, it feels pretty much the same as normal vanilla.. with only slight changes.

I really like yours though, the color palate you use is very nice. very soft and medeiveal by bright at the same time.

the only glitch I spot is that the upside down stone stairs.. there an incomplete texture showing up when its facing a certain angle.

all the other angles apper fine,.. just one angle when placed upside on as a corner connector.. it shows up as the purple/black no texture box.

This looks a lot like the texture style for the upcoming 1.14.
Since you've been working on this since 2016, I wonder if the texture designer for MC 1.14 got his
inspiration from you? geez, as similar as it is I would swear he outta pay you royalties for its usage.

Found a glitch while dealing with another issue.

TLDR: 1) change infested blocks to have a recognizable texture separate from the originals. 2) fix the pathing of the texture for the infested cracked block specifically since it won't update regardless.

Originally, I was changing the textures of the infested stone blocks to another one so that I can mine without being super swarmed because the original textures are exactly the same and since the block break immediately you have no warning.

As I was dealing with that, I came across this issue ( Link to picture ) where the cracked infested block will not change texture despite me changing the png file as I did for the other 5.

I don't know a whole lot about this so I don't really want to mess more with the files but I figured I would bring this to your attention for you to fix.

The current pack already has custom infested stone blocks. If you want to change the textures, it should be a simple png swap.

I couldn't find those, they were the same as normal textures on my end when I tested them, especially the first one which made it look like normal iron; the others didn't have that small blemish. (I will say that I'm as blind as a bat so I might have missed something, but I need these different color bocks) I just can't figure out how to change the cracked one because no matter what png I change it to it doesn't update. :(

I have optifine installed would that change how it works?

I don't want to sound stupid but how did you place bottles and bread down in the 8th slide? Does this pack also work for a certain mod or is that completely vanilla?
  • Maffhew
  • Level 57

The pack is completely usable in vanilla. To place a bottle down, you have to put a cactus into a flowerpot. I call it cactus juice. The bread is a playerhead, but you can also use cake to achieve something similar

I would like to use your texture pack in my map

But I will also need to change it a little bit and even maybe mix it with others
I will of course put a link to you on the project page and in the map
May I?
I also won't use adfly links to redirect people to this page if you don't want to
(Btw, beautiful work, you can easily see how much effort and passion was put into this)
Where can I get a 1.12 build? I wanna play this on my modded game.
thanks bro

I'm not sure what you mean by survival and builder only. If by builder only you mean that some blocks have been given textures that don't fit what material they're supposed to be (maybe gravel being changed to some fancy chiseled marble, for example), you'll find there is almost none of that. The only things that I can think of that don't are end rods, beacons, and cactus pots, and even they look completely natural when placed or generated. I play survival and I haven't found anything generated that looks out of place.

I was playing around with it more today and noticed that the sky isn't working? I can't get the stars to appear, the north star, beautiful clouds, or the rainbow thing. The sun and moon look nice though.. but I feel like I might be missing something maybe?

Not in any particular order...

  • Fancy carpet for other colors besides the red, green, and magenta... I do most of my builds in shade of blue or purple and a good carpet would be a nice touch.
  • A glass that is more clear. Current glass has a crossbar in each block and makes aquariums look weird while hindering the view of fish. I love the design but I think it would be more helpful to make the current glass a variant and a clearer glass as the main block. If possible make the edge of the glass of a single pane move to the edge of the surrounding panes, like how Red carpet works with its edge. (btw I love the stained glass, maybe different variants for them in different shapes and subtle mixed hues, this could make building towns much more diverse)
  • Some of the doors need a bit of cleaning up. The acacia door I love the slits through it but when you put two together one of them isn't see-through. It would also be nice if the color was more pleasing to the eye. Acacia models always look interesting but not flexible for builds. The dark oak has a good theme but is more pixel-y around the edges compared to some of your more detailed models.
  • Random lilypads with lotus' or just lotus' by themselves, great for pond builds.
  • The iron helmet is a bit bulky compared to the outfit and the Dimond one is even bulkier in the front compared to its outfit.. and the gold one looks nice but I'm not a fan of the hidden face model. I know a lot of people like to at least have that unique feature.
  • Crafting table variant. So I love the idea of the crafting table having the nightstand/drawers picture on it, in builds these are really nice, but because the crafting table is not directional the sides that still show tools can be problematic because then the crafting table forces me to rebuild the room around it if I really want a certain side of the table shown.
  • Stair varients for chairs with backs. I was playing around with the slab variants and the stool looks really cute. Then I started making a living room and reverted to the standard way of making couches and chairs with the stair blocks... made me wonder if this would be possible.
  • I can't seem to use the table and stool in realms. It won't give it to me through commands. The bonsai also doesn't work.

Some that are on the top of my head. I'll comment some more when I come across them later since I have work :)

ps Does the beacon lantern and the endrod lantern put out the same amount of light as a torch?
Not to rush anything you're working on or seem pushy, but do you have a plan on when are you releasing the 1.13 update? Some textures don't work with the new update, just wondering

I understand, I just ended up digging up monster egg blocks more than actual iron! The difference in texture for me is too small to notice but I've since learned how to replace textures and just replaced it with the stone block texture :) Again, the rest of the texture pack is awesome, I love the horses and the different kinds of fences - the birch picket fence is adorable.
