Hello one and all! Welcome to Infinite Swords Project.

Infinite Swords Project or ISP is a project aiming to bring a new look to Combat Epicness, and to the usual pvp/pve we see in Minecraft... and that sums it up for now.

OK! The space for building up the Community Pack is ready! Go here, and all the instructions should be there. If something is confusing let me know.

I really wanna hear comments, suggestions, requests, anything about this project. What sword you like, what sword you don't like, If you have a sword idea, tell me, send me a texture, I don't care... I would just love to know what the community thinks about adding more swords and RPG elements to Minecraft :)

Changes at the moment:
  • 75 new sword textures (Courtesy of Optifine's CTM feature)
    • 15 Wooden Swords
    • 15 Stone Swords
    • 15 Iron Swords [2 NEW]
    • 15 Diamond Swords [3 NEW]
    • 15 Gold Swords [3 NEW]

  • Removed Enchantment tint
  • [Temporarily Removed] New GUIs
  • [Temporarily Removed] New Font
  • [Temporarily Removed] New Potions - look like spell crystals
  • [Temporarily Removed] New Enchanted Books - Enchanting Tombs

Upcoming Features:
  • More textures - blocks and Items
  • Add more Items - eg. currency, runes, crystals, more potions... you know... rpg stuff
  • More swords - who said (some #...) swords is enough :D
  • More sword types - I'm gonna see If it'll work if I add swords made of other materials. For example: emerald swords
  • As well as... YOUR swords!! yup, you read that right. There will be a way for YOU guys, the Minecraft community, to contribute to the project! Soon I'll set up a place were you can share your swords textures with each other! And have a chance for them to be included in the 'ISP Community Pack' :D It's READY!

Instructions for getting the different textures:
To get the sword texture you want, rename the respective sword and add the following:

Stone Sword {Style #} {Tier #}

Eg: Stone Sword Two Three
NOTE: Capitals don't matter

You can use this diagram, or the built-in diagram on the banner images above, to identify the texture names:

I don't get how the {Style #} {Tier #} part works, could you make a tutorial about it? Thanks.

There is an example right under that part. Here's another example: "Diamond Sword Four Two"

"Four" being the style number, and "Two" the tier number. Simple as that :)

Im having problems equipping the different sword textures.. I am placing the sword in the anvil and naming it "Stone Sword 4 2" and it is not changing the texture. I have the latest version of Optifine so I dont know what to fix, thanks.

Ah, yes. The naming system was changed as of v1.2. You have to spell out the number as apposed to just using digits. So, rename it to "Stone Sword Four Two"

May I use your swords design in my resourcepack and some changes you did in Adjustify? I'll include you and your RP in credits.

Sorry man, I'm gonna have to say no. If you were gonna use the packs for a video, map or server (like DuelNation) then I'd consider it. For a RP tho, I'd be happier if you used your own textures. After all, designing textures is where all the fun lies :)
I'm curious, How does this work? Is a random texture assigned each time the weapon is crafted or are there specific requirements?

It uses Optifine's custom item texture feature, which allows an item texture to be different depending on certain criteria. In this case, when you rename a sword with an anvil, the second the name is changed, the texture will change. You can use the description instructions and banners to see what to rename them to :)

(Basically the same as ItemBound)

I actually have an idea for an easier way to get the sword varients in survival, currently, each time the sword crafting shape is made it can cycle through the textures and give one of those as an outcome. I don't create optifine resources (from scratch) so yeah, but it should be possible.

Ya, I had looked into that a long time ago... unfortunately, It's currently not possible. I originally had a different path in plan for this project, but I'm gonna be patient and see where time can take me haha. Good idea tho! Thanks!

( I'm also glad you like the project :)
