Wellbeing & Support

You don't have to go through this alone

I need support

If you're thinking about hurting yourself, feel unsafe, or are struggling with something that feels overwhelming, please reach out to someone who can help.

If you may be in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services now.

Find someone to talk to

Find A Helpline lists verified crisis and emotional support services in more than 175 countries.

If you're in the United States:

You can also talk to someone you trust, such as:

  • A parent, guardian, or other trusted adult
  • A family member or friend
  • A teacher or school counselor
  • A doctor, therapist, or other healthcare professional

If you're under 18, reaching out to a trusted adult can be an especially important first step.

You don't need to wait until things feel like an emergency before asking someone for help.

I'm worried about another member

If another Planet Minecraft member says something that makes you concerned they may hurt themselves, take it seriously.

You don't have to handle this yourself. Report it and our moderation team will take it from there.

Report it to us

Report the post or message to Planet Minecraft. This alerts our moderation team so we can review it.

  • Look for the report option on the post itself. It's usually under the more options menu or on the post or content.
  • If you can't find it there, visit the member's profile page and use the more options menu on their profile bar to report your concern.

If it's someone you already know in real life and you believe they're in immediate danger, you can also contact the emergency services in their area.

Reach out, if you feel able to

You can let the person know that you care about them and encourage them to reach out to a trusted person or crisis support service.

You don't need to become their counselor or take responsibility for keeping them safe yourself. Reporting it to our moderation team is enough.

You can share this page with them:

Please don't

  • Encourage self-harm
  • Ask for details about methods
  • Challenge someone to prove that they are serious
  • Promise to keep an immediate safety risk secret
  • Ask for their real name, location, or other personal details, or try to find them out. Report it and let our moderation team handle it.
  • Spread screenshots or draw more public attention to a concerning post. Report it instead.

Talking about mental health on Planet Minecraft

It's okay to talk about having a difficult time and to support other members.

Some content may be removed when it could put the person posting it or other members at risk, including:

  • Content that encourages or glorifies suicide or self-harm
  • Instructions or detailed descriptions of methods
  • Graphic self-harm content
  • Content that encourages other members to hurt themselves

When a member shares that they're having a hard time, we'll often leave the post up so they can read the support others leave, both now and later on. If someone posts about suicide or self-harm repeatedly, we may remove those posts and reach out to them privately instead. Repeated public posts like these can be distressing for other members, and our community and moderation team can't provide the ongoing support these situations need. In some cases, we may temporarily restrict posting for everyone's wellbeing, including yours.

If we remove something because we're concerned about your safety or the safety of others, you aren't being punished for struggling or asking for help. We may contact you privately and direct you toward resources better equipped to provide support.

About these resources

Planet Minecraft is a community, not a mental health provider or emergency service. We can't provide medical advice, diagnosis, counseling, or emergency assistance, but we can help connect you with people and organizations that can.

The external resources linked from this page are provided to help members find organizations that specialize in crisis and mental health support. Planet Minecraft does not operate those services.
