SRD's Chromatose x64 [1.5.2BWC] - Put a splash of color on your minecraft!

A rich feel of the winter wonderland, and a hint of sheep.

to thecrazydudesrd,

Presentation:

A new innovative way for a theme of this texture pack. These words are hard to say for an individual who attempt at something new like this. The way you show off your textures are a great job showing off your blocks and also your achievements. The guis are nicely hd giving that rich feel every time you play the game, but the font could use some work. I dono t like how it tries to hard to be fancy. Make it easy to read if I were to go in a server talking in a fast pace about who got the most diamonds.

9.2/10

Blocks:

This artsy feel to buildings make it one of a kind. You try to show encrusting decorations to every block in the game and it makes it fancy looking, both interior and exterior. From wools to woods, it really does the job. I dono t like about the birch wood. Ito s just too much contrast which makes it look too harsh for the eyes to handle. The quartz need to be more like a whole block other than separate quartzes like your pillars. The terrain look is ultimately phenomenal, giving the skies a dark blue making the overall world more unique. The leaves look like it clipped though and the colors of the trees are not amusing to stare at. Make it have cooler colors and it will blend in with the other foliage.

8.6/10

Mobs:

The way you redesign the dangerous mobs are very daunting to look at. I also did like the different colors of skeletons and creepers to look menacing. Time to look away and talk about friendly mobs. Nothing much to say, since the majority of it is undone. I really wish if you redone the villagers so it can show some personality.

9.4/10

Items:

The whole redesign of the items are interesting to see. The tools are beautifully crafted and so are the ores and more. The potions look more better, and you could improve the food by giving more contrasts to it. I highly recommend to make armor for this so it can match the highly detail features of your tools. It really is a o splash of color to minecraft.o .

9.1/10

Final score: 9.1/10

Ancient Craft (16x16)

usfyfpng

In a world where rust is everywhere...and where villagers drown themselves.

To JasonBlitz,

Presentation:

Ancient Craft or Rustcraft 3.0 is all about rusts in game. I thought this one is a nice theme to play around with, especially something this difficult, but how its present itself is very lazy. Where are all the pictures with the rust? If you added pictures to your previous texture pack, why not this? Did you ran out of memory when taking pictures? And did you left the CAPS LOCK ON YOUR DESCRIPTION? I expected a theme this difficult to grab an attention of a great artist with a sense of mind. Make it professional looking at least. The background has an interesting pattern, but the guis are just bad for buttons. The buttons are incomplete but I noticed the button push picture is so shiny! The shininess is not relevant to the theme at all, get rid of it.

4/10

Blocks:

With doubts in mind from the presentation, I thought this texture pack would be disastrous, but you do have skills. Although you didno t fully completed the blocks, the underground on survival mode looks fantastic. But I dare not go up to see the grass. Ito s so bright that it looks like toxic green. I hoped for a darker color palette next time. The colors of the stones are gorgeous with a totally redesigned touch on the ores. The buildings are really enhanced with rusted woods mixing with cobblestone, bricks, anything I can think of that is a building material. I recommend to keep working on the blocks, editing every single pixel of that bit.

8/10

Mobs:

Cows are goodo ¦

(Too little are changed, so no rating.)

Items:

The limited items that are edited are safe to say a perfect fit to the theme. I really enjoyed swiping mobs with my sword with beautiful shaders that matches my armor. You really focused on what people commonly uses and I greatly respect that. The ores look well done, but keep editing the items folder as well as your blocks and you will be victorious.

9/10

Total: (If you changed the guis and presentation, 7.6/10) For now, 7/10 for great textures and items that fits with an interesting rust theme, but its presentation will make peopleo s first impression not want to click on the download button.

David's Detailed [64x64]

qswkewpng

Another night in planet minecraft.

To DavidTheDude,

Presentation:

Right before I clicked on the download button, I notice you have a lot of things to show with pictures and a video. The way you show your realistic fantasy theme texture pack grabs my attention fully. You have mostly everything I needed to know about the texture pack. The guis in this texture pack are also a well done job. The colors and texture of each one looks modified to support the theme, except the creative and survival mode gui. The stone bricks make it really sharp, dark, and hard to read words when put onto it.

8.6/10

Blocks:

The architecture side is just gorgeous with its contrast on the wood, stones, and even on the block of ores. You can literally build any type of building regardless of the theme and you still get outstanding results. Both interior and exterior, you overachieved. But that doesno t mean the other blocks are as good as building blocks. The landscape is fascinating for a fantasy theme, giving off the best colors of the biomes, but the stones are not that attractive if I look in a far distance. It seems that you are sacrificing the beauty of very fine detailed work on a close up scale. It is really outstanding though for mining trips to the deep abyss. Try to make the details of it a bit larger to make it appeal both close and far away. I also do appreciate the glowstones and redstone lamp that you reedited. I had to include those because it is honestly the best 2 blocks I ever seen in a texture pack.

9.6/10

Mobs:

The dangerous mobs are just frightening for a theme youo re aiming for. I like the faces of each mob, making me wonder what is going through their head, especially on the skeleton. That grino ¦ Anyways the friendly mobs are a problem. The eyes of each animal are awkwardly small and when you attempt to make it large like the sheep, it is even more awkward. Some of the mobs have a mediocre texture overall. Try to have interesting colors to some mobs that really need it and redo the textures to fit the theme at least.

7.8/10

Items: (No compass or day-night timer)

The items are good, but what grabs my attention is the armor and weapons. Thought the armor is another generic piece, you done a really great job making it unique. I look like a hero in the diamond armor. The swords are very different each other. I dono t even know if I want to call it a sword for some because it just so different in a good way. The other items are nice but most of them dono t show a 3 dimensional form. Increase the contrast and make sure the food looks delicious to eat. Io m only satisfied of the tools and armor, which is a disappointment. Try to improve the items by showing form.

7/10

Total: 8.5/10 for its nice take on a realistic fantasy theme with one of the most gorgeous appearances I ever seen but the overall experience still needs improvement.

Now we are up to 1 lonely skin,

Subterra Dweller Knight:

To Emitheoks,

Oh thato s better than the peasant. The goggles are well crafted. Since when a knight have 3 eyes, incredible. Anyways you kept it mysterious by the choice of clothing, but why thereo s a bright yellow and red sword in the back? You have a problem with unnecessary emphasis. Also, it could do good if you added pants, or keep it the same. In conclusion, it is cool. 6.4/10

Thank you guys for looking through all these reviews and even downloading from one of them. This is Gms+ and check out the next Minecraft's in the bag!

Thank you very much for the excellent review GMS, You probably would like some of the changes that I've made to Chromatose as of late.  Namely (if you use MCPatcher) stone with layered strata that is biome specific and man so much done since 1.5... oh various gods there is so much done (except mobs and armor... working on developing those here soon... just trying to keep up with Mojang and it's constant bumbling around with how they messed up the renderpass order among other things.

Anywho, do give it another whirl and I'll give a few more passes through the mobs to make the whole thing a wonder.

I really appreciate the kind words!

Its actually simple, you find a website like tinypic that upload your pictures to a url format, and you copy the url to insert image and it'll be in the post.
