ROMECRAFT COLISEUM

(Now properly in white!)


This is one of the many buildings constructed in the late City of Romecraft and Augusta projects, but it is so large that it deserves its own project! (Be aware, it only really looks good using the Romecraft texture pack)

We built a 1:1 accurate depiction of a ancient Colosseum, starting with the 456 outer, main support columns (we could not get the correct number of columns due to Minecraft restrictions, but 456 is enough). The column layout, and overall design of this Colosseum is directly copied and influenced from the real Coliseum in Rome. The interior portions of the arena is slightly different in Romecraft, however, since it was never meant to be the actual Coliseum and was built for a server a while back.

The real Colosseum has support columns 4m thick, we had to use 3m thick columns in order to compensate for the fact that our columns are entirely square and unable to be rotated as they are placed around the curve.

This Coliseum is 189 x 156 x 48 meters (blocks) in dimensions. The structure is a perfect ellipse (as perfect as it can be using cubes), as far as I can tell.

Hello, im BootySC I am a map maker and I am working on my new map and It requires a large scale arena. I do like your arena nad I want to know if I can use your arena. I will include your credit of making the arena and make it so they think you guys made it and not me. I will put the credit on the finishing area and in the arena. It will be visible. hi i want to use your colosseum map for one of my upcomming maps. and i need a colosseum to use as the arena. its a big fighting game that will use the sheilds in 1.9 and other cool combat fetures. i will give you credit and a huge thank you on the map for building the colosseum. so what do you say? sound like a good deal? oh and also ill let you have early acsess to the map.
