Greetings! Welcome to the 15th interview of Gru's News, where I, your favorite Despicable Me character, interviews some of your favorite PMC members! Today's interviewee is none other than Hardcrafter, someone you may or may not know in the community. If you don't know who he is, you're in luck! This interview will give you a little bit more knowledge about who he is!
Zappy's Questions
Before we begin, tell the audience a bit about yourself and what you usually do on PMC.
Hardcrafter: Well, I'm a 24 year old Canadian dude who has made a comeback to this site in 2019 after a very long hiatus. My old username was Killer_Husky14, and my current name here is one I made based around "hard dance" with the "crafter" suffix since we all know MC is all about that crafting. I'm essentially a bit of a lurker and supporter when it comes to my PMC activities. I do make skins from time to time, though they've definitely become more and more infrequent.

ZappyGru: That's nice to hear!
How different was 2011 compared to now?
Hardcrafter: I was never really a part of the community back in 2011, but I can definitely say wall posts didn't exist, they were introduced a few years after I had made my account. In 2011, I just used PMC as a site to get skins, mods, and texture packs. I barely touched the forums, if at all. In fact, there's a Wayback Machine snapshot from the day after I made my account, just to show just how much the site evolved just aesthetically after 10 years.

ZappyGru: Wow, things have changed a lot during the years. I noticed that there's a lot of differences between then and now.

How did you find PMC back in 2011?
Hardcrafter: Honestly, I just looked up "Minecraft texture packs" and/or "Minecraft skins" on Google and PMC was the top option. That's as far as I remember at least. You might ask how I didn't get involved with Skindex while I was looking for skins, and the simple answer is, I didn't need to lol

ZappyGru: Well it's a good thing that you didn't get into Skindex. You could possibly say that Skindex is just Twitter Lite!
What sort of style do you have with your submissions?
Hardcrafter: My skins are basically all in the "teen skin" category with few exceptions. My shading style is very simplistic so I'd imagine that my skins don't particularly stand out but the point is to have fun making them in my opinion so I care less about having a distinct easily recognizable style. I'd imagine I'm mostly known on this site for being a supportive individual who is passionate about music and other things.

ZappyGru: But hey, your contribution by making skins of any kind will always have an impact with the community, big or small!
Are there any people that helped shape who you are?
Hardcrafter: Well one of my first major influences in skinning was a user named adorable, whom I haven't seen active in a while. Also there's Hibiki Ekko, who was actually the first user I ever made a fan skin for. As for people who shaped who I am irl, I feel like I'm influenced in a couple aspects of my personality by my dad, though of course I've developed my own traits as well.
How come you went on an 8 year hiatus?
Hardcrafter: Well, I lost interest in Minecraft as a whole for about that long. My interest in Minecraft only returned after the 1.14 update when YouTubers like Jacksepticeye started playing it on their channels. After seeing the new boom in MC content on YouTube I remembered this site, as it was on my bookmarks bar the whole time, and I decided to log in again and begin anew when it came to actually being a member of this community.

ZappyGru: Wow, with an 8 year gap, things must have been really different compared to 2011.
How often are you online on PMC?
Hardcrafter: To be fully honest, I'm probably online too often. While I may not post daily, I'm always checking out what's on the go with the people I'm subbed to. I'm the type who basically has to hit the like button and diamond/favourite everything in my feed lol

ZappyGru: What kind of hobbies do you have when you're off of PMC?

What kind of hobbies do you have when you're off of PMC?
Hardcrafter: I listen to a lot of music, I enjoy playing various video games, and I spend perhaps way too many hours watching random bs on YouTube. Heck, I've even got a long list of anime I'd like to watch with more to be added that I just haven't gotten around to because YT

ZappyGru: Huh, that's interesting to know!

What do you see yourself doing in the future of PMC?
Hardcrafter: I'm not sure. I'll likely end up quitting this site altogether at some point down the line, priorities y'know? As for more immediate things, maybe try to be more active in skinning? Like, I have the time to make weekly skins but I can never think of what to make lol

ZappyGru: There's always an end to everything, it might take a long time, or even the very next day!
By looking at your profile picture, it seems that it has been drawn by someone! Who is the artist of your profile picture?
Hardcrafter: My current pfp is a head-cropped version of a commission I got of my persona, Hyouka, by an artist on Fiverr named anzailee. The full sized image is full body and features Hyouka in an action pose. Money well spent I'll say!

ZappyGru: Your money was definitely well spent! The details, angle, and the style is just perfect.
Is there anything that you dream of getting or doing in the future of PMC?
Hardcrafter: Honestly, not really. I'll half-jokingly say that I want to achieve level 45 on this site just so I can be a Baconator, but honestly I have no ambition. I'll just keep being me, whether that's going crazy over new music releases or talking about the other things I enjoy!

ZappyGru: It's great to keep things humble for yourself!
Now that we're near the end of the interview, is there anything you would like to say to the audience?
Hardcrafter: Well, to the folks who are taking the time out of their day to read this: Thank you! If you've yet to sub to ZappyGru and just happened upon this interview, please do so! The content is worth the subscription! Also, a friendly reminder to not take PMC too seriously. Don't stress yourself out over a Minecraft fansite, it's not worth it! Need a break? Take one! It's not going to hurt anyone!

ZappyGru: Wonderful! Thank you so much for taking your time to be here!

Another great interview featuring another great user has been complete! Thank you guys for tuning in on this fine day or night, and I hope to see you again sometime soon!
