My mother is so mean!
She won't let me stay up past 10/11, she won't even let me date before 16!
And even then there is a minimal to no kissing rule!
She also apparently doesn't want me to have a social life, because she made me homeschool! I've had like 3 close/best friends!
She won't let me vape, drink, or do anything the cool kids do! Like staying up late going to parties! I've literally never gone to something like that!

She's SO mean!

Is what I would say if I didn't know she was once my age…
That she has had some experiences with these types of things…
That she's got her heart broken too many times…
That she suffered from depression, and even tried hurting herself once…
That she doesn't want the same things to happen to me…
Is what I would say if I didn't know she doesn't want me to surround myself with people that will drag me down paths I can't come back from…
That she was bullied from said types of people and made her have little to no positive body image…
Those 3 best friends? They were good kids, with straight morals, and wanted the best for me…
The only real social interactions I have are (mostly) with good people who are uplifting and who are generally good people…

So when I grow up, I will be a mean dad,
And not let my kids stay up past 10/11,
Or let them date before 16…
And have a minimal to no kissing rule…
And homeschool them so they have good friends…
Or let them vape, drink, or do anything the cool kids do, Like staying up late going to parties…

I want to be a mean parent,
And I hope you do too.
