Please note that this guide is only from my experiences playing on PvP servers and is intended for someone who cannot seem to survive in these servers but would like to know how. I do not condone lying, griefing or stealing except for on the servers that allow it and state it explicitly in their rules.

So, since you're here, I suppose you have died a lot trying to play in that PvP server you found. Have no fear! Hopefully this guide will help you survive and even thrive in a server full of spawn campers in diamond armor, griefers, and thieves!

So you are a fresh spawn, or freshly killed, and you are looking a place to live. Do not start off thinking of where you're going to plant your house in the dirt. Start off running. Try to join the server when it is at its peak of players. You can use the other players at spawn as a distraction to escape the PvP to aquire food and tools. Run for at least 600 blocks in one direction to escape a majority of players. If you see a house in this stage, avoid it.

Now that you have escaped, you must be hungry. Find yourself some wood and begin making tools. Making stone tools as fast as you can will give you an advantage. Then kill some animals or fish if you have to. Fishing is a good way to save your hunger and obtain food when there are few animals nearby. Cook your food and restore your hunger. Make sure you have some left over because it is time to find some armor.

Walk another 400 blocks in the same direction. Avoid players if you want to live, but raid any empty houses along the way. Only take what you need such as food, small amounts of wood, and coal. You're going to want to save some inventory space, so don't be greedy yet.

Once you arrive 1k blocks from spawn, find a cave to mine in. If your cave is bare, walk another 500 blocks. Find another and mine until you have enough coal and iron to make a set of armor and a sword. Carry your goods to the surface.

Now you have armor and weapons and are ready to raid. Walk another 1k, fishing and stealing along the way, and make sure to look for a grassland. Once you find one, gather as many seeds as you can and find a suitable place for your home. Note that the closer you are to spawn, the easier you are to find. I go about 4k before I make my home. The more hidden your entrance, the harder if will be to raid you. I find that these strategies make the best hidden homes:

1. Make a decoy house 100 blocks from your real home. People coming by will stop there first and never think to search for more homes in the area.

2. Hide the entrance to your house under a tree.

3. Make a decoy house with a really deep well filled with air pockets. Make your home at the bottom of the well.

4. Make a mine and have long twisting corridors so only you know the path to your house.

Make your home and immediately make a farm. Find animals if you can and make sure to hide them well. Placing them in an open area is a good way to get them killed by players. Make a hidden chest room as well and remember to store your valuables, extra iron, coal, wood, food, etc. Set your home if the server allows it.

Now you are ready to raid! But before you go out, I'm going to ask you to do something crazy! Take off your armor and store all of your things at home. Then, go to spawn when the server is busiest and escape once more. In the confusion, break into the homes at spawn and take what you can from houses that are unguarded. Upon raiding a house, teleport home and bank your loot. Repeat this process until you have a good amount of supplies. If you get killed in this process, good news! You didn't lose your armor and new weapons and they can be used in the defense of your home.

Next step is to diamond mine. If you do not know what a strip mine is, dig to layer 10 - 12, then dig a 3x2 (hxw) hallway as far as you want. Do not dig the entrance to your mine inside your home as it makes finding your home easier. Once you are satisfied with the length of your tunnel, go to one end, dig the same height 4 blocks left or right. On the last two blocks of this 1 block wide corridor, begin digging a tunnel in the opposite direction. You should find diamonds in no time and if the server has a shop, you will have lots of cobble to sell to make some quick cash.

Do what you will with your diamonds, but make a sword first. Then a pick. Then an enchanting table. Armor should be the last thing on your mind. Only make diamond armor when you have enough diamonds for an entire set!

Now that you have learned how to survive in a PvP server here are some extra guidelines:

1. If your server allows you to tpa to people, use it to your advantage. Tpa to people who you know are new and are away from the spawn. Kill and loot them for some small-time items such as food or ores.

2. Never tpa to someone who has just found diamonds, they may be near lava or suspicious that you want to tpa to them. Wait to strike when you know they return to their home or in safety. If they ask why you are teleporting to them, make an excuse such as "Can I help you mine?" or "May I see your home?". Never respond with "No reason." or "I feel like it." unless you want to drawsuspicion.

3. If someone wants to tpa to you, do not accept unless you know them personally, know they are unarmed or have a good reason to come to you. Preferably all of the three.

4. Only make trades either away from your house or in a protected area. Do not let anyone you do not trust know the coordinates of your home.

I hope these have helped you survive in your PvP server! I hope to make more Noobs Guides in the future to help new players or just people who need advice. :)

Thanks! I don't typically play on these kinds of servers since I hate being griefed and raided, but a lot of people joining these servers are fairly new to Minecraft and seemed like they needed the help. :)

I don't understand why. As I said in the beginning of this post, I do not condone lying, griefing, or stealing. This post is meant for those that play on PvP, Raiding, and Grief servers since I have some friends that needed some of this advice.
