First there was nothing. Then, I suddenly gasped, life coming in to me.
My creator, a human with snow strewn on his shirt, suddenly flees.
I try to assure him, that I was not a threat.
But to him I was one he wouldn’t soon forget.
I tried to follow, but I was slow, so I thought
I could only throw, spheres of snow, but they could not help.
So I slowly trudged away.
I found him again, badly mauled by a zombie, ever edging closer.
The decomposing wraith, a deathly musical composer.
I flung my snowballs with all my might, hoping they would make a difference tonight
My maker stared at me with fright.
Then eased when I didn’t attack, and I helped him up, from the snowbanks.
He promised he would repay me, with kindness.
And as he walked away, I followed him.
He welcomed my to his home, with open arms.
I then stood a silent vigil, promising to protect him from harm.
For he was my new master, his promise kept
Like an undying fire, blazing till the end.
Now, I stand in the ruins of my master's home.
Just how he got owned.
Could I have done better?
Well it's too late, he's gone.
Now I crumble, due to time just like the ruins surrounding me.
At least, I thought, I die in the one place I feel safe.
My one sanctuary.
And with one final breath, I collapse, becoming one with the mound of snow in a hole.
And with that, my promise died with me.
