Then I saw a tunnel or something nearby. I gasped and looked at it. I then went down with that really smart cat. I saw writing on the wall, and it mentioned something about an island, on how a brave teen and his friends overcame challenges and defeated Larude, who supposedly had murdered many people in cold blood, on how the hero, Scaly, overcame many trials and liberated 13,000 souls of fallen knights, on how he defeated the nightmares, on how he ended up marrying someone called Laruta, who was Larude’s daughter, on how he got to live on as a skeleton even though he should be dead, on how he used the same sword I am wielding right now, and on, more alarmingly, how his family would uphold a curse of defeating the nightmares that threatened the whole world.

I was shocked by all of this, and more pressingly, who was in his family. I saw a map for his descendants, and looked at the names on the wall. I read through all of them, and I saw one that chilled me to the bone; “Drakonith, great grandson of Scaly.” I didn’t know what to say. The cat seemed pretty spooked as well.

“So you’re the descendant of some hero,” he said.

“I guess I am,” I responded, my eyes wide.

So I had to process this: I was the descendant of some guy who hacked through monsters like nothing, who defeated the Ultimate ultimate bad guy, and who was basically a war hero. Then, I was pulled into some weird portal thing.

“So, we meet again,” the skeleton said.

“Y-you’re Scaly!” “Why didn’t you tell me this before!?”

The skeleton sighed, “You would have been too prideful, and the last thing I need is for my great-grandson to be way too boastful for his own good.”

“So you used magic too?”

Scaly sighed (man, it was weird to call him my great-grandfather and Scaly.), “Yes, I can, although I learned I had magic abilities way later in my life, when there were no threats at all in the land.” “I am ashamed that I could not tell you about the dangers of the Glow Sword earlier when it

would have been so much more useful for you.” “But now, we must not focus on the past, and look at the future.” “Nako is being controlled by a far-more sinister force than you even realize.” “He is but a puppet to the Nightmares.” “He is easily replaceable, and they do not care about him at all.” “You have to destroy it, no matter the cost.” “The glow sword is the only weapon that can harm them.” “You have to kill the Nightmares before they end up controlling the whole land of the dark realm and the light realm.” “You need to get out of the dark realm soon, and you must head to the dark snow wastelands.”

I gasped as I was back in the ruins, with the 1,000 iq cat just reading the inscriptions.

“Interesting,” he said, “These writings date back 253 years ago.”

“We need to go to the dark snow wastelands,” I said.

Suddenly, he stared at me wide-eyed, and said this:

“Going to the dark snow wastelands is a death sentence, even for the strongest people.” “The scariest creatures you can imagine live in the dark snow wastelands.” “For example, that monster in the light worl-”

“How do you know about that,” I said.

“I just do, binkus.” “As I was saying, that monster was a creature that lived in there, until Nako took control of him and turned him into a super soldier in his army.” “There are many more like him in the dark snow wastelands… and worse.” “So, I beg of you, DO NOT GO THERE!!!”

I have never seen the cat like that. He was truly terrified. I mean, I couldn’t just tell him that I was sent by my long-forgotten descendant. He would think I was completely INSANE! Last thing I need is for everyone to think I'm completely insane. So, I just told him that we should go there just to see if there’s anything interesting there. So, our party packed up, and left for the dark snow wastelands.
