This is one of the saddest parts I wrote, so be prepared! Also, read the other parts of A Tale of Darkness before this, otherwise you may not understand anything XD Now we begin where Drakonith had walked through the portal in the Darksnow Wastelands...

I walked through the portal gate, and was shocked to see what the light world looked like now. Purplish fire was everywhere, and most trees were just logs. The sky was gray with smoke, and houses were in ruin. I was inside a ruined village when I heard the sounds of swords clashing together. I saw a knight fighting a monster that looked like one from the Darksnow wastelands. I went up behind the monster, and cut it down without much effort.

“T-thanks,” The knight said, “Hey, you were that one near the battle we fought.” “You’ve become quite the fighter.” “However, the monsters out there will be dangerous even for someone like you.” “Just take care, and also, bring me with you.”

So now, toting a knight along with me, I explored the light realm. Most of the inhabitants in the light realm had been slaughtered by the monsters. I saw a whole village, and in the center was a mound of bodies, each with the dark realm symbol carved into their head.

“It’s Horrible, isn’t it?” The knight said.

I nodded in response, too shocked to say anything. This place used to be a paradise, now it is hell incarnate. Then, I saw a young boy in the bodies. He must have had a normal life, until his life was extinguished like a candle. I thought about mourning, but I realized that I couldn’t. I had to keep going. Then, I heard his voice. Scaly. I was pulled into the light area again. He was waiting for me.

“So, now we learn spells,” He said. “These are even more dangerous than a creature from the Darksnow wastelands. These will kill you if you use up all of your life energy. So now, I will teach you weak ones that won’t kill you instantly.”

He yelled, “Ș̸̨̹̺̹̜͕̜̗̟̱̟̺͊̋̈́͒̈́̋̌̃͜p̶̢̛̤͖̎̀̃̊͊̐̒̽̐̓̚͘͝e̸̢̥͉̤̦͍̣̬̟̫̔͐̀̈́͒͊̑́͆̀͂̇͠͠l̵͙̬͉̼̔̇̌́l̶̡̢̻̼̲̼̿̅̓̐̔͛̃͝!

I swung my sword, but somehow it missed him, and it hit me instead.

“Ow!” “What the heck is that spell!?”

“Spell,” He said, “Gives you bad luck and sometimes kills creatures instantly.”

I charged him again, but he yelled, “A̷̛̬̖̓͆̔̔ṛ̶̲̺͑̀̀̄̃̋m̷̢̢̢͚͈͔̐̋o̷̧͇͙̪̙̭̒̅̚ṟ̷̯̤͌̔̇͐̕ĭ̷͔́̈́̿̈́a̴͖̭̐!”

My sword bounced right off his armor, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t even dent his armor.

“Armoria,” He said, “Makes nearly Impenetrable armor that blocks almost all attacks, but makes it hard to move.” “Until later, Scaly.”

I was back in the light realm, and I was with the Knight.

“By the way,” I said, “What is your name?”

“Troy,” he said.

“Well, Nice to meet you, Troy.”

We advanced into the realm, not knowing things were following us…

-Meanwhile, in the light realm’s castle-

I smirked. I was winning this war the light realm was raging on us.

“Sir,” Said a monster, “The kid with the sword is back here!”

“Perfect,” I said. “We need to hunt down his friends so that he will be crippled with sadness, and then we strike.”

Everything was going according to plan. I will win this battle, no matter what the light realm throws at us. Then, he appeared. Scaly, the man who killed my earlier great-grandfather.

“Stop this madness,” he said, “And we can negotiate terms.”

“I will not,” I said. I threw fire at him. He jumped over my head, but I caught him off guard and hit him in his weak spot. He went flying, and fell to the floor.

“You should not have started this,” He said weakly.

“You should have never begun,” I said.

He then teleported out of the throne room, leaving me by myself staring at the walls…

-Back to Drakonith-

I was walking when I saw a skeleton slumped against the wall… No, this was Scaly! I ran over.

“Drakonith,” He said weakly, “I am dying.” “Again.” “I was nearly killed by the magic.” “My time… It has come for me.”

“No,” I yelled, “This can’t be happening!” Tears were forming in my eyes. I may not have known him for that long, but he was like a mentor to me.

“...Just, carry on my legacy,” He said. “Teach your descendants what I taught you.”

“No,” I yelled! “You can’t leave me!” Tears were now streaming down my face.

He disappeared, leaving no trace he had ever been in this world. I cried my heart out, and Troy went by my side and put his arm on my shoulder.

“You know,” He said, “My life was tragic also.” “My mom died when I was born, and my dad died when I was 8.” “I went into the military academy, and I learned so much and everyone was like family to me.” “Then, during the attack you witnessed, everyone I knew and cared about died.” “I wept like I never did before.” “Then, I realized something: they helped us all.” “What they did reduced the force’s of darkness soldiers.” “Of course, it didn’t help much…”

Then, we heard rustling behind us. I saw a knight in tarnished armor.

“Please listen to why I followed you,” He said. “I am a part of a resistance of knights and people who resist Nako.” “We would be honored if you could join us.”

I looked at Troy and smirked.

“Of course, we will.”
