Now many people play minecraft almost everyday, it is not that uncommon. However many people including some professional players, do not know how to make anything with redstone. Most people would normally look at the minecraft wiki for some specific info on the recipes. Personally that's what I did, but for you special people, I decided to come up with a sort of hub for all of the redstone recipes, involving redstone dust.


First on the list would be a redstone torch, commonly used in redstone wirery. Now you shall need one stick and one dust. This is a fairly simple recipe that follows the status of the regular torch.

Now is the clock, mainly useful in survival when mining to check if it is daytime or night. The clock is a simple device to pull off and in certain servers, could give you an advantage.

The compass is an incredibly useful tool in most servers. On some it can be used track players, on vanilla servers, it can track your spawnpoint or where you last slept. Follows the compass rule with Iron instead of Gold.ã

Now there is the note-block, a minor item in minecraft but can be used to make doorbells, or do an entire song. The recipe is as follows

Detector rails follow a similar formula, but instead of gold ingots, there are iron ingots, and there is a pressure plate instead of the stick.

Next is the dispenser, which if items are placed inside, will shoot out the item, and if it is an arrow or snowball, will fire it. The dispenser can make many traps and helps distract intruders.

Personally, the hardest one I think is the piston recipe, it is the least remembered of the bunch. The piston is incredibly useful for making traps and other contraptions.

Now Recently added is the redstone lamp, which is like glowstone only that when it lights up, it lights up all surrounding redstone lamps, and can be powered by a switch pressure plate, or button.

In the most current update we received the redstone block. Much like other blocks such as iron and diamond to store easier or for decoration.

Now the dropper when items are placed in it, drops them like an entity (i.e. floating item) or if the dropper is placed next to a chest, when activate, puts items in the chest.
