Everyone asks, and everyone answers the question "how to gain subscribers," or "how to start out new on my own YouTube channel." Well, I'm not nearly a "large" channel, but here are some very helpful, sort-of-original tips? That I've heard from some larger channels.

1.)

When first starting out, you need to put in a lot more work, than you will later. It could either turn out to be a waste of time, or the best idea you have ever had. Remember, patience is key.

2.)

Your going to need an original intro. This can be obtained in a multitude of ways. Don't go around using those "template" intro's, that is just lame. Your first choice, is obviously to pay someone... You could always go free.(Unless ofcourse you are THAT YouTuber who starts out a millionare.) This is a list of programs I've compiled that are completely free to create a... Decent intro:
  • Windows Movie Maker! It is possible, and not very hard to make a "decent" intro. I did it before, I'm sure it can't be that bad...
  • Another horrible/Your choice idea, is to use one of those websites where you can make "free" intro's. I do not recommend these, at yet again, they are not your own work.
  • You could use a software called "Kate's Video Toolkit," download link found here.
  • Another good one is Avidemux. Download link can be found here.
  • That is about it for that list... Feel free to add on in the comments.

3.)

You're going to need original artwork! Like thumbnails, funny images, icons/logo's! There is plenty of editing to go around. If you spend just a few hours, it's easy hands on work. It is also a major field to work in after college. I highly recommend not paying someone for thumbnails, they are just to easy. If you want a good background/logo, that may be worth the pay. Remember, if someone else can do it... You have a chance too. A list of good programs to make thumbnails and/or logo's can be found here:

  • Paint! paint comes free on most Windows computers, and is highly usefull for just dropping an image in and writing over it! Seriously, paint can be usefull! The link to download Paint, can be found here.
  • GIMP, is another great program to use. It's free just like paint, and is a lot more extensive. Truth be told... I used it before I got photoshop. The link to download GIMP, can be found here.
  • Those are my two favorite, so if you have more free programs, post them in the comments!

4.)

Join a YouTube network very early on! There are plenty of awesome YouTube networks out there! They help you get sponsorships, earn monthly money, and increase views! They usually offer plenty more! I'm in a great network called "Freedom.Tv" You are almost 100% accepted if you have more than even 10 subscribers! Here is my personal refer link, found hereNow, onto the actual tips to get out there and get subscribers with your work!

5.)

One of my personal favorites for small channels to gain some viewers... Be nice. "What? Be nice, on the internet?!??!?" Yes, be nice on the Interwebs. The whole meaning of this is, if someone commented they love one of your videos and dropped a like on it, that has to make you happy. I usually, open their own channel to see if they have any content I can help them with. So, the whole main, main purpose of this is it help you grow, explained in the next paragraph.

Everytime you wake up, go to 15-20 channels and say something nice about their video, and leave a like. Try to make it seem not-so-obvious that you are trying to get their attention. Try to targest channels with 500-30k subs, and videos with less than 50k views. I personally love doing this, since you get awesome reply's from some awesome people.

6.) (I honestly don't know why this paragraph is sticking out further....)
My final, and most important tip to all you future YouTuber's, don't make 500 videos a day. If you upload bad quality, bad thoughtout videos, you're not going to get lots of recognition. Upload good, consistant, thoughtout videos. Don't rush, patience is your friend.

I know these have most-likely been said in other of the thousand "Gain fame on youtube 101" guides etc. I just thought I would share them, in a different way and to maybe share some of my own experiences with YouTube. If you guys would like to see other YouTube tutorials from me, feel free to let me know. :)

You guys can find my channel here.

P.S Don't give up hope on YouTube Lyfe.
