In this blog I will be going over the basics of one of Minecraft’s most popular PvP modes: Sword PvP.
Now in sword combat, it isn’t focused solely on clicking speed, but rather about timing.
Now when timing your attack/hits you need to focus on three main things:
:1 Spacing
:2 Movement
:3 Your opponent.
Now let’s first discuss our spacing. In Minecraft your reach in default survival is exactly 3 blocks. So to have perfect spacing, you need to be at around 2.9 blocks away.
Now comes the movement. Once you have hit your opponent, and have started a combo, you need to work in strafing. Strafing is relatively easy to do with a bit of practice on a friend. All you need to do is switch back and forth between keys A (strafe left) and D (strafe right). The other move is W tapping and S tapping. W tapping is where you (exactly what it sounds like) tap W to go forward and keep max kb (knock back) and S tapping is where you (also exactly what it sounds like) tap S to keep your opponent from hitting you.
Now the 3rd thing that you need to master is actually your opponent. Now of course you can not actually control exactly what your opponent does, but you can do quite a few things to influence their actions. You one need to pattern them. 2 you need to maintain the combo on them.
3 aim at their feet 🦶 for good kb.
If you follow these steps and practice them I bet you will be better at Sword PvP in no time.
