The story behind Binding of Isaac is that Isaac is a young child and all is well until Isaaco s Mum hears a voice from above o Your son has become corrupted by sino . To prove her faith to god, she agrees to sacrifice her son Isaac as an offering. Isaacso s mother enters Isaacso s room and just as she does so Isaac escapes into a trap door in an effort to escape mum.

You initially start the game playing as Isaac battling you way through the basements to defeat mum but eventually unlock new characters as you progress through the game. Throughout your time in the dungeons you come across monsters, secret rooms, chests, power ups, challenge rooms, bosses, and many others. The key part to the game that when you die, you start over completely with a new randomly generated dungeons with different bosses, enemies and items.

Binding of Isaac has expansive range of monsters with over 20 bosses and 50+ monsters all of which can be o specialo making them more deadly but also drop better items upon death. There is also over 100 different items and power ups that enhance your characters attack, range, speed and fire rate. All these items also visually change your appearance which can lead to some very interesting looks.

Though the controls may be hard to adjust to at first but you find yourself quickly adapting to the game style. As you progress deeper into the dungeon the harder the difficulty becomes and once you have defeated mum you find yourself continuing to fight your way through the dungeons facing all new monsters harder than you have previously experienced.

Animations are smooth and attractive with well-designed graphics that are very appealing to the eye. Background music effectively adds to the atmosphere of the game without dominating the gameplay and sound effects are also used well with different combination of power ups and monster deaths.

Binding of Isaac is one of those games that you just keep coming back to time after time again. Io ve racked up over 30 hours within 2 weeks alone. With 87 achievements on steam and 131 items to collect in game it will put any perfectionist to the test. With the release of Wrath of the Lamb the game has expanded drastically adding over 100 new items, 20 new enemies, 15 more bosses and 25 more steam achievement as well as 5 new sound tracks by Danny B it is a must have for anyone who has completed the original version and looking for a challenge. One of the more interesting aspects of Binding of Isaac is that it is riddled with religious diction that has greatly expanded my knowledge of Christian religion.

Binding of Isaac is a great addition to your steam library with it being very affordable and content to last days of enjoyable gameplay. Overall I give Binding of Isaac 8½ out of 10.

Pretty good for a first review, seems like you can do more than just create a decent texture pack lol.
