Building Servers

Hello Everyone, like many of you I have a server. In fact I have had around 5 servers! Every time I have made one I always find new tips and tricks and I'm going to try to put my mind to a good use and help you build your server.

Here are a few plugins I'm good with:
-Essentials
-NoCheat
-AntiCheat
-Factions
-Towny
-Vitals
-Essentials GroupManager
-Announcer
-J Commands
-PermissionEx & Group Manager
-and there are tons more at the bukkit, spout, and other forums.

Make Sure Your Server Is:
- 24/7 (dedicate yourself to keeping it up)
- Some kind of community (nice helpful players)
- Hacker free (NoCheat/AntiCheat/etc.)
- Nice non-abusive admins (choose carefully)
- Non-laggy (less plugins)

If you want to keep a professional 24/7 appearance then you will eventually need to either rent space at a host company or buy a host computer of your own. I currently run my server on a dedicated computer that I rent every month, but if you have the money, I suggest buying your own hosting computer!
