Getting heads into your minecraft builds can not only help make something look better, but it can help you think of new ways to design things.

You can spawn fruits or vegetables for farms or markets. You can spawn computers, clocks, fish tanks, and more for interiors on modern builds. You can spawn blocks, or mob heads, or even pokemon to decorate your worlds!

There are a couple of different ways to get heads. I'll go through a few of my favorites.

Vanilla - Command Blocks

This might be the easiest way only because you can spawn many heads at once, or respawn heads you may need again, but it does require you to have a web browser open.

Step 1:
- Make sure there's at least 1 slot available on your hot bar.
- Type

/give @p minecraft:command_block

- Put the command block on the ground and, while holding shift, put a button on top (or on a side)

Step 2:
- Go to this very helpful website:
http://heads.freshcoal.com/maincollection.php
- On this page you will see many heads as well as a few tabs "Food, Devices, Misc, Alphabet, Interior, Color, Blocks, Mobs, Games, Character, Pokemon"
- Select a head just by clicking on it. This will copy text. Important: Sometimes you have to click the head a few times for the copy to register. If Step 3 does not work, return to the website and try just clicking the head again.

Step 3:
- Paste the text from step 2 into the command block on top where it says "Console Command"
- Click Done
- Press button

Step 4:
- Put heads wherever you want! I usually put one head on the side (or top) of the command block, and use the command block later to respawn heads, that way I don't have to type so many commands. You can also connect command blocks together to spawn multiple heads at once.
- Make sure you clean up the command blocks, heads, and buttons after you are done using them!
- The best part is that these heads are permanent and will never change.

Vanilla - Type a Command

This is a super easy way to get just one type of head at a time, plus no command blocks to clean up when you are done. Important: Note that these are not permanent, as some of thees players could change their username.

Step 1:
- One easy step: Type the following command:

/give @p minecraft:skull 1 3 {SkullOwner:NAME}

Type this command
And get a head!

- Arcaniax has already done a TON of work and compiled a list of heads similar to the fresh coal website. Make sure to diamond and favorite his page so that more people can use these awesome heads!

VIA a plugin -

While spawning in heads with commands is pretty easy, there are many plugins available to you, some are extremely helpful. My servers almost always have a head spawning plugins to simplify the command that you must type. The Spigot Premium page has plenty of the best options with plugins complete with GUI's, and there are some free ones too.

A simple one is called "Playerheads" and is compatible all the way up to 1.8
