Cactus creature/man?

Hey, guys, I was playing Minecraft, killing some monsters and what not, when I was attacked, this creature was unlike any id seen or heard about from mincraft. it was about 1/2 block taller than my player and really thin. its body structure was similar to iron golems, with the long legs, arms, and rectangular heads. but this thing spawned naturally. it was a green color similar to jungle leaves and it came from a nearby cactus. it also had no features and dropped no items other than Exp points. So I was wondering, does anyone know what it was, or if it was a glitch? cuz its was pretty weird.
