In this guide you will learn how to upgrade your old 1.17 world with Caves & Cliffs Expansion Pack: Cave Biomes datapack to vanilla 1.18 version. Here's all the steps:
After this, the conversion will be done, it will have sharp chunk borders between new and old terrain. Mojang decided to not implement the blend feature into experimental worlds. Even with third-parties programs you cannot solve this.
If something like this happened to you after the conversion, it's because you didn't deleted the datapack from the datapacks folder. This is a big problem but it can be solved!
Download and install MCA Selector app and go to the files option and click in "Open Region".
After this, select your world, click in the "region" folder and "Select Folder".
Now you have to select every newly generated chunk from 1.18 generation and delete it pressing CTRL + D.
After this, your world should be fine again, and the process is complete. (Please, remember to delete the datapack from the datapack folder in the first place)
