Ever gotten bored of playing Minecraft? Indeed, it is possible--but it can be solved! These are some fun challenges for survival mode. These challenges are currently all aimed at Vanilla and some may be Java edition only.

There are multiple types of challenges.
Building Challenges are all related to building.
Restrictive Challenges all restrict your ability to do certain things such as using shears on sheep or using potions.
Timed Challenges all challenge you to complete certain things in a certain amount of time.
Collecting Challenges all demand that you obtain a certain amount of something, such as mobs or items.

Building Challenges

Build a statue of your skin with one block per pixel. Inside can either be hollow or filled with hard-to-obtain blocks.
Build a statue of the first mob you kill. Inside can either be hollow or filled with hard-to-obtain blocks.
Build a statue of a sheep using only colored wool.
Build a statue of a skeleton using only bone blocks.
Build a dragon statue out of stone.
Build a dragon nest...bonus points if you put the ender dragon egg in there.
Build a village out of blocks and items you steal from villages.
Build an entire forest...by hand. Try not to go bonkers.
Build a castle of dirt.
Build a castle of diamond ore--you'll need silk touch for this one.
Build an End-themed castle. Good luck!
Build an end-game castle. This means to build using materials found later on in the game, such as diamond blocks, emerald blocks, and other blocks that may be challenging to obtain.
Build the smallest base possible, but do not use a tutorial.
Build a base that spans an entire biome.
Build a base underwater.
Build a base that looks like a mushroom.
Fantasy themed base, anyone?
Transform a cave you find into a base.
Take that cave base and make it fit for a dragon! Use your imagination. Small statues, gold piles...
Transform a ravine into a base.
Or transform that ravine into a dragon's lair! You can also make that lair into a mob farm.
Build your first base using another challenge, your second using only Nether materials, and your third using only End materials.
Build a boat with enough space to fit two of each breedable mob.
Build a horse stable large enough to fit 12 horses.
Build a farmhouse out of furnaces. Remind them where they'll end up.
Nether portal art! Don't make your entrance to h-e-double-toothpicks boring!

Restrictive Challenges

Do not kill or even interact with passive mobs. No more naked (or cooked) sheep!
Do not start using diamond tools until 10 days pass in-game.
Do not trade with villagers or enter villages...you're exiled, sorry!
Do not use any iron tools or armor other than a pickaxe.
Do not use potions or drink milk.
Do not take falling damage. If you do, restart.
Do not take hunger damage. If you do, restart.
Do not take damage from the Ender Dragon. If you do, restart.
Only use Dark Oak wood.
Do not use a boat. That's right, swimming only.
Use only your fists against zombies, skeletons, spiders, and creepers. Other mobs are fair game.
Do not swim or use a boat. You may only build or lava bridge to get across water.

Timed Challenges

Do not spend more than ten minutes IRL in the Nether, and do not enter the Nether more than once every IRL hour. Wayyy too hot in there!
The mountains call, and you must answer. Do not spend more than thirty minutes IRL in any biome other than a mountains biome. Feel free to use a seed that will spawn you in the mountains. This excludes the Nether and End.
Tame a wolf within thirty minutes of spawning. If you don't, restart.
Obtain a diamond within thirty minutes of spawning. If you don't, restart.
Do not stay in one biome for more than 30 minutes. Excludes plains biomes (so you can have a base), the Nether, and End. Wander the world. Explore.

Collecting Challenges

Collect three of every tamable mob.
Bring a Ghast into the overworld...three times.
Collect two of every passive mob. Is it raining yet?
Collect THREE of every passive mob. Just in case.
Collect enough sponges to dry a pond or lake. You get to choose the size!
Collect a stack of Oak logs and a stack of Oak leaves. A Dark Oak tree is usually a bit less than 64 logs...so feel free to build an imposter Dark Oak.
Obtain a block from every biome. It can be dirt (or something similar) or it can be a signature block from that biome.

That concludes what we have for now!! Feel free to contribute your ideas here.
